Missourian hosts children’s author Long

Washington — The Missourian hosted children’s author/illustrator Loren Long in Washington Sept. 6. Long has won many awards for his work, including the Golden Kite Award, one of the most prestigious honors
for children’s book illustrations.
He has written and illustrated four children’s books and illustrated more than a dozen other books,
including Madonna’s “Mr. Peabody’s Apples,” and a rerelease of “The Little Engine that Could.”
He signed his first, personal copy of his newest book, “Drummer Boy,” for Missourian photo editor Jeanne Wood.
This book will release in October.
