St. Joseph councilman buys weekly Telegraph

St. Joseph City Council member and writer Mike A. Bozarth bought the weekly Saint Joseph Telegraph from Carl Fowler and Greg Fields on April 17.
The 1,500-circulation paper was started in 1989 by Scott Johnson, who published it for nearly 16 years. It has changed hands three times in the past few years.
Bozarth has written a column, “Consider Liberty,” for more than 15 years for the Telegraph. He plans no staff changes, but he hopes to expand local news and sports coverage and add more photos. He’s also looking for single copy sales locations.
Fowler and Fields, who bought the Telegraph in February 2007 from Guy and Leslie Speckman, publishers of The Savannah Reporter, put the Telegraph up for sale after suspending publication on April 11. They cited family situations as the reason.
