Another honor for Park Hills series

A series of stories about the impact of child abuse that ran in January has earned another honor for the Park Hills Daily Journal. It received the 2007-2008 Media Award from the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center.
Karen Adams, CEO of the center, thanked the newspaper’s staff for taking on the subject of child molestation in its series “Shattering the Silence.” She praised the amount of work done on the series, the objectivity and professionalism of the articles.
Paula Barr was the lead reporter for the series. Earlier this spring, on behalf of the news staff, Barr received the Mental Health Media Award from the State Advisory Council for the Division of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services in Jefferson City.
Other staffers who worked on the series were Teresa Ressel, Renee Jean, Chris Cline, Jen Miller and Don Adamson.
