Former St. Louis editor found slain in home

Nancy Miller, a former Lifestyle editor and columnist at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, was slain Feb. 1 at her home.
A 27-year-old neighbor out of prison on parole has been charged with raping and killing Miller. The man had been released from prison 10 days before the killing after serving about 4-1/2 years of a seven-year sentence for burglary. He was staying at his parents’ house across the street from where Miller lived.
Miller, 59, worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for nearly 30 years as an editor. She accepted an early retirement offer and retired in June 2007. She had been working with journalism students at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in recent months.
