Redden inducted in to MSSU Media Hall of Fame

• Carthage — Wendell Redden, sports editor for The Joplin Globe for 44 years, was inducted into Missouri Southern State University’s Regional Media Hall of Fame on Nov. 1. The induction was done in front of high school students participating in the Southern
Media Showcase.
Redden joined The Globe in 1951, a year out of high school. He was promoted to sports editor a year later and he held the position until retiring in 1996.
He was given a crystal trophy and House resolution from state Rep. Ron Richard.
His photo will be on display near the communications office in Webster Hall.
Redden was the first print media person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
