Thad and Mark Requet have gone out on a limb starting a weekly newspaper in Northeast Missouri. They have and continue to publish an excellent weekly newspaper that brings their readers each week quality news and advertising for their area. I have two papers in direct competition with the “Shelbina Weekly” and can say the Requet’s are good newspaper publishers providing an excellent service. I have known both young men since they were young boys and both have and continue to display themselves as assets to our profession. I would highly recommend Thad and Mark’s weekly newspaper the “Shelbina Weekly” as an active member of the Missouri Press Association.

  2. Both Thad and Mark new the risks of starting a newspaper in a county with competition several years ago, and as far as I can tell, they continue to have a desire and dedication to reach their target area with news and advertising content. I have no problem recommending their newspaper, “The Shelbina Weekly” as an active members status of the Missouri Press Association.

I had the great pleasure of working with Thad at a newspaper a few years ago. He was a wonderful co-worker, very dedicated to the newspaper business. The same can be said for Mark. I have seen their paper and think that they are doing a great job and wish them much success as they both know the amount of time and attention it takes to print a weekly paper. They are honest, hard working people and I am sure that their newspaper will continue to thrive.
