Flood rescue photo makes Time

A photo of a FedEx truck driver rescuing an elderly man from his flooded vehicle, taken by Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian photographer Aaron Eisenhauer, was picked up by the AP and used by many newspapers around the country.
The photo, one among a series, was taken in mid-March on a flooded road. It was included in Time magazine’s pictures of the week and appeared in Editor & Publisher magazine as the picture of the month. It also appeared in a CNN news broadcast.
The day after the photo was released, the FedEx station in Cape Girardeau began receiving emails from around the United States and the world. FedEx posted the photo on its internal employee website, which resulted in notes from around the world.
The driver will be nominated for FedEx’s humanitarian award and other companywide recognition.
